I’m Erik, the founder of Kretschmer Strength and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Sports were a driving force in my life from an early age, shaping the person I am today. Through high school, I was a successful soccer player and went to two straight state championships with my club, winning one of them. I was also part of one of the most decorated wrestling programs in New Jersey. Although rewarding, I faced many setbacks – both physical and mental – with continued shoulder injuries. I continued my soccer career at Stockton University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Those years taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of pushing myself beyond what I thought was possible.

However, after college, I found myself burnt out and began questioning my career path. I realized that I had strayed from what I truly loved. I decided to make a change and went back to my passion for fitness and strength training, and I haven’t looked back since.

Now, as an athlete and a dad, I understand the importance of pushing both physical and mental boundaries. Whether I’m training for a marathon – or just trying to keep up with my son, I’ve found it rewarding to challenge myself regardless of the goal.
